A couple of days ago I spilled fragrance oil on my carpet. I noticed that the carpet actually kind of uprooted from the floor. Where I spilled the oil, a part of the carpet is sticking up, unlike the rest of it. Why would it do this? And how can I fix it?Dropped fragrance oil on carpet?
Here is a site that I would highly recommend. They have very high quality stain removal techniques. I would suggest repeating the process after the first application, and rinsing the rug out with cool water in between applications. Best of luck!Dropped fragrance oil on carpet?
The oil has dissolved the glue in the carpet or has softened the jute backing. The only way to fix it is to use a solvent such as turpentine or mineral spirits to get up the oil and then to reglue the carpet here it has bubbled. To do this, you need some carpet glue and a carpet glue ';syringe'; that you inject the glue through the carpet and press it back into position.
